The average teenager has to work 4 hours to afford one CD.The RIAA lied to Congress and the media. Sales (in $ the way the RIAA measures them) were actually up per unit, not down. Record sales weren't down either. Indie records were just doing better and the RIAA was doing worse. [obviously because file sharing lets people hear indie music instead of clear-channel controlled radio stations, MTV, etc.]. No data supports the RIAA's claim that their sales are down due to piracy. The RIAA discounts the media exchange effect, despite the input of experts. The RIAA raised cd prices in a weakening economy.
